ShiftFill works with Deputy, not around it.

Managers set the fill order in ShiftFill. Staff receive and claim available shifts in Deputy, with no extra app to learn.

What the connection provides

The roster context needed to work the gap.

After an authorised manager connects Deputy, ShiftFill synchronises relevant operational records for enabled locations.

Locations and roles

ShiftFill uses the selected locations and roles to decide who should receive the first offer and who can be contacted next.

People and availability

Current availability, leave, training and roster records help check who can be offered the shift.

Open shift status

A published open shift starts the workflow. A fill or closure recorded in Deputy stops it.

Setup

Connect Deputy, then choose how offers should progress.

Nothing is sent to staff until you review the default rule and turn on Autopilot.

  1. Authorise with Deputy

An authorised manager starts the connection through Deputy and returns to ShiftFill.

  2. Review the requested access

See why roster, employee, location and availability information is used in the open-shift workflow.

  3. Select enabled locations

Choose which locations should be watched and included in candidate groups.

  4. Review and activate the default rule

Check who gets the first offer, the delay before the next group and when the shift should return to a manager.

One connected workflow

Staff stay in Deputy. Managers control the rule in ShiftFill.

What stays in Deputy

  • Published shifts and assignments
  • Employee access to shift offers
  • Current roster and availability records

What managers control in ShiftFill

  • Enabled locations and candidate groups
  • Offer order and escalation delays
  • Whether automation is enabled or paused

Disconnect when needed

Managers can disconnect the Deputy integration from ShiftFill settings. Existing audit and account records are handled under the applicable service and privacy terms.

Open-shift filling on autopilot

A shift needs covering. Your fill rule gets to work.

Set the order once in ShiftFill. When you publish an open shift in Deputy, ShiftFill offers it to the first eligible group, waits for your chosen delay and then tries the next—until Deputy records the fill or a manager takes over.
